Baby Animals

Preparation Time:  15 Minutes

Duration:  10 Minutes

Ingredients needed: The attached form, pens and pencils

Description: This is a game to test your guests' knowledge of baby animal trivia.  Guests are given a list of animals and a pen or pencil.  Then they have 5 minutes to come up with all the names of the baby animals.  Whoever has the most wins!

How to get ready:  If you use the attached form, this is a simple game to prepare for.  Just print out as many sheets as you need, plus the answer sheet, and you're ready to go!  If you'd like to create your own list, it will take a little longer.  Hand out the sheets and pens to your guests and give them about 3-5 minutes - longer if they seem totally clueless.  You might give them an easy example to start.  Like, A baby goat is a kid.   Once they're done, read out the answers.  The one with the most correct baby animals wins!

Helpful stuff:   If the Guest of Honor loves a specific animal that I don't have listed (I know someone who LOVES turtles), you can check out these sites for more baby animal names.

Variations:  You could do this game backwards.  I don't have a sheet for it yet, but you could list the baby names, then have your guest come up with the adult names.  You'd probably want to pick the unique baby names for this - like cygnet.  You could do a little speech like, "The Guest of Honor's baby will soon be born.  I wonder what he/she will be when he/she grows up.  Here's a bunch of babies, what will they be when they grow up?"  Then hand out the sheets and baffle the guests!
