Preparation Time: 30 Minutes
Duration: 15-20 Minutes
Ingredients needed: Tray or basket, various baby related items
Another classic Baby Shower game, this one involves a tray or basket of baby items that is shown to all of the guests. Then the tray is taken away, and the guests have to write down as many of the items as they can. The one with the most correct items wins!
Find a tray or basket or some other way to display the various items. Then purchase a bunch of small, baby related items (there's a short list under Helpful Stuff). Arrange them attractively on the tray. You can either display the tray on a table in the middle of the room or carry it to each guest so they have a close up view. Then take the tray way and provide them with paper and pens. Of course, all of the items go to the Mommy-To-Be, so this is a gift too!
Ok, if you've been to a lot of baby showers, you know the trick to this game - don't try to remember the exact items, just start writing down all the baby related things you can think of. Its usually easier and faster anyway. So, try to come up with some not-so-obvious baby items to catch those folks. Also, you can add some oddball items. In between the rattle and baby bottle and washcloth, stick a tire gauge or a whisk or a curler or something funky. Keeps people on their toes.
List of items: bottle, diaper pins, baby oil, baby powder, washcloth, cotton balls, pacifier, rattle, bath toy, teething ring
A clever variation on this game, and one that catches those been-there-done-this people, is to have the Mommy-To-Be show around the tray of items, then have her carry it out of the room. When she leaves, ask the guests about the Mommy-To-Be, instead of the tray, like what shoes she's wearing, what jewelry, what color top, etc. Don't forget to chuckle evilly when they realize what you've done!
This can also be done as a Bridal Shower game, with perhaps small kitchen items instead of baby items.
