Description: This is a "classic" Bridal Shower activity that I've seen time and again. While the bride opens her gifts, one of the shower organizers surreptitiously writes down the first thing she says for each gift. Then these words are read back to the group, as an example of what the bride might say on her wedding night! Considering the various things a bride might receive as gifts, some of the remarks she makes may be hilarious in a new context!
This is a relatively simple activity, requiring just good ears and fast writing. As the bride opens each gift and remarks on it - Oh, how lovely! Now we've got the whole set! The perfect color! This will look great in the living room! - write down the phrases. It might take a bit of editing - "How nice" just doesn't sound that funny! Be sure to catch all of her comments and pick the ones most easily translated to the new context. Once you read them back, try to put the same emphasis on the phrases that the bride did.
